This is a song about our dad/grandpa, Bill Zabel. He was "the man." A family man, a servant of men, and God's beloved man. We sure do miss him and can't wait to see him again in glory!

It was winter in South Dakota when my daddy came along
But every moment in California is where he said that he belonged
He married mama and a few weeks later got on a plane to Vietnam
When he came back he made a family and got a job at Nissan

Every Sunday we held a hymnal; sang in four part harmony
Every season that he was able he coached soccer and little league
He rocked a sweet Tom Selleck mustache and his blood was Dodger blue
